Part 2 : Vyril

“Alyssia! Alyssia!” A panic voice awakened Alyssia from her sleep. She was fainted and now she had to face her parents, giving them some reasonable made up reasons for why she was that deep in the forest. She tried hard to think of a reason but nothing came to her mind.
“Honey, why were you sleeping in front of the door? Sleep walking? Strange I had never seen you sleep walked before since you were born,” Mrs Cornell asked, kneeling beside her daughter's bed.
“Maybe she got a fever,” Mr Cornell said coming towards her daughter and sit beside his wife.
“No,” Mrs Cornell said showing the thermometer she used on Alyssia awhile ago to Mr Cornell.
“I was in front of the house?” Alyssia puzzled.
“Yes, dad brought you inside. He was shocked seeing you there,”
“But I was in the forest,”
“Forest? What are you talking about, you was sleeping there with your winter suit. Thank God you don't catch a cold.”
“But-”
“Honey, maybe you're just tired. Rest well now. Don't go to school tommorow, you need to rest, I'll call your teacher.”
Mrs Cornell left the room with Mr Cornell after covering her daughter's body with a warm blanket and closed the door very carefully, not wanting to make any lound sound.
When Alyssia felt sure that her parents had left the room, she began to put her mind together. She was puzzled with everything she remembered. To satisfy her curiousity, she rose up from her bed and moving towards her winter coat. She put her right hand into the pocket and searched for an evidence. The egg was there.
Carefully, she took out the egg and put it on her study desk, observing it. It was a shiny pure white egg of a palm size big. Everything had puzzled her and she had no idea what egg was it. Was it a dinosaur egg?
She lay a finger on the egg. The egg tilted. She touched one more time and the egg tilted harder. It wasn't the touching action that caused the egg to tilted. Something inside the egg had cause it to tilt. For few minutes, Alyssia focused on the egg. Her eyes blinked less often, not wanting to miss any crucial moments, until a crack sound from the egg took over all her focus to one spot of the egg. The egg began to tilted harder and harder, and the crack sound became louder. The egg hatched.
To her surprise, a liliputian size human-like girl appear from the inside of the egg, staring at Alyssia with her charming puni eyes. The mini girl stepped nearer to Alyssia, grabbed her pinky finger and smiled.
“Uh.. What are you?” Alyssia asked abruptly, but the liliputian girl seemed didn't understand what she said, she stared at Alyssia with confusion and began to smile again. She jumped around on the table like a 5-year-old kid.
After jumping around, tiredness seemed to make her calmer and she sit down on the table nicely. She put her tiny hands in front of her stomach and her face looked sadened. Alyssia began to understood, she went out to the kitchen and took a slice of bread with her.
When Alyssia came back from the kitchen, she was shocked by what the liliputian girl did. She ate the egg shell as if it was a sugar coated cracker. She ate it happily, producing crunching sound as she bit the egg shell. Alyssia took a small piece of the slice for the girl, small enough for her to swallow. The girl looked very unfamiliar with the bread, but after a minute or two, she took the small piece from Alyssia's hand and ate it. Her face lit up. She liked it.
Alyssia decided to name her. She named her Vyril.

Alyssia didn't believe what trouble she had invited to her life. Quivering with fear, she meticulously observed the unscathed pulchridutinous body of Vyril whom she had hidden in her room for about 17 days, not wanting her to wake up from her sleep. The beatiful girl had been sleeping more often lately. Vyril was never a human and Alyssia knew it from the beginning. Alyssia knew it and she could feel the danger that she would face knowing this. Danger that came from other world that people called it FANTASY.

Part 1 : The Light In The Forest

Winter was never a pleasant season for Alyssia Cornell. She had been mischievously allergic to low temperature since she was a kid. However, her family insisted on staying at their current home which was in a mountaneous area that was remote. They said the allergic would go away as she grew up. To Alyssia's disappointment, that statement was never come true. She was 14 now and the allergy was still there, staying with her like a rat trapper glue.

It was true that the allergy was not threatening her life. However, it made her suffer quite enough as she must bring tissue paper everyday and everywhere because of her nose that more than often became red and produced one kind of liquid.

Despite all of the hard times she had with the allergy, she loved snow. She enjoyed playing with the snow. Sometimes she could go deep in the forest to play with the snow, because the slope there was the most amusing thing to play with and the snow made it slippery enough to slide with a sled. She didn't have any friends. She didn't like any friends. She had no siblings. The trees in the forest was her only friends.

One sunday morning, she woke up early and got into her snow coat and went out to the forest with her sled. Without noticing, she went to far to the forest. Soon enough, she felt a slightly different atmosphere of the forest. As she went deeper, the atmosphere became more and more unfamiliar to her. A slight feeling of fright came into her as she discovered that she lost her way. However, her adventurous will took over her soon enough, pushing her to go forward.

All of a sudden, a horrendous earthquake happened, agitating the whole sylvan area. The girl looked around in panic, looking for something to hold. However, in a minute or two, the earthquake stopped and strage things happened.

First, the snow was rolling to left and some to the right, forming a way straight for their guest. Second, there were lights floating in midair covering the gaps in between the trees like fireflies but more like stars if they were looked more closely. Third, there was one of lights that was dimmed enough to be spotted different than others. It was floating lower than the others, low enough to enable Alyssia to grab it.

Filled with curiousity, Alyssia stretched her right hand and grabbed the light which appeared to be an shining oval shaped egg. “An egg?” she tought

She put the egg inside her snow coat pocket and in a sudden, a very familiar earthquake happened. She remembered falling down to the ground and the rest was blackout.

Down To The River of Death

There it was, only few meters in front of my eyes. A gigantic lion-headed creature with a fiery red skin covered its goat-like body until the end of its body where its slimy dark teal snake head was hissing with anger. In a minute, I could hear it roar, agitating the whole riverside, causing the huge rocks to start falling from the massive hills that surrounded the river. I tried to calm myself down. If only I hadn’t gone this far.

It all started when Ranell, the son of the richest elf stood in front of me and pointed me with a grin on his face.

“Yo, half-blood! Why don’t you go back to your human world!” he said to me in front of the class. “You aren’t afraid of the river, are you, scaredy cat? Oppss… I mean scaredy creature! Hahahaha...”

I was different from other elves, I was half-blooded. My dad was a human and the elves hated humans, because they destroyed our forests where we used to live in prosperity. They hated me because I had the human look.
They hated me because I had the human look.
Elves now had moved far from human’s civilization and found a new place near a deep river which separated us with humans. They said that there was a monstrous creature guarding the river.

I made up my mind. I packed up my things and bring along a leather jacket, mother gave long time ago. She said it could protect me.
They said that there was a monstrous creature guarded the river.
After a few days, I reached the riverside. The river was deep and swift. Many had died trying to cross this river either killed by the creature or drowned in the swift river. That’s why they called it Arrthorea or in human language ‘River of Death’. Mysteriously, my dad, an ordinary human, could cross the river.
Suddenly, I heard a loud noise advanced to where I stood. I decided to run immediately. However, my speed was outmatched. In a blink of eye, it was already in front of my eyes.
The creature, the one that the human called as ‘Chimera’ was standing right in front of me. Creature with the head of lion, the body of goat, and the tail of serpent, stood in front of me, making an earthquake around the riverside. I trembled with fear. It moved few steps nearer to me. I cast spells but they seemed didn’t work against the massive creature.
It roared and roared. It opened its mouth, showing its big teeth. Suddenly, I remembered. The jacket!

Immediately, I grabbed my bag and took out the jacket in rush and covered my body with it and close my eyes. For a moment there was a silent.

I opened my eyes. I saw the enormous creature stood quietly, behaving like a huge dog met its master. Then, it led me to a secret cave which connected to the land of the humans. At the end of the cave, I could see a smoke coming out from a chimney. A creature came out from the house, creature that I had never seen in my life before. Human! He looked at me and saw the jacket I hold. He then ran towards me and hugged me.
“Louis? Louis! It’s me your father!” he shouted excitedly.
“Father? I hate y-” I couldn’t finished my sentence. I wanted to push him forward, but I couldn’t. Tears rolled into my cheeks and I felt happiness as I hugged him. It’s been a long time since my mom died. The jacket used to be his. The one he used to wear, and the chimera, which had befriended with it for a long time recognized it.
